Today we tour a house in Kent, UK.
The 1960’s structure really stood out among the Edwardian homes in the neighborhood to the couple who bought it. But that didn’t mean that there wasn’t plenty of work to be done. Larger windows were installed to let more natural light in. They also created and open floor plan with sliding doors that would allow for rooms to be closed off whenever/if ever needed.
The house is in a conservation area. This meant they also had to come up with a way to get the room they wanted without having to risk not getting the building permits needed. They made use of an existing (but not functioning) conservatory and double car garage to build a new living room and den.
The decor is laid back, colorful and full of personality. String lights all year long is always a good call in my book. 😉

From everything I’ve heard, it’s tough to renovate in a conservation district – love the floors!
