If there is any month that seems to be devoted to fashion, it’s September. And if you live anywhere in the New York Tri-State area, it’s hard not to notice Fashion Week, which just ended last week. I usually follow online or in magazines. But this year, I actually made it to an event. It was the Alice + Olivia by Stacey Bendet Spring 2013 Party.
The fashion was definitely 50’s/60’s inspired. A return to the classics if you will. The few props that were used followed suit. Mid century modern pieces scattered about among pretty models.
It was a good time overall. Cocktails, some celebrity sightings and beautiful clothing to top it all off.
And just when I thought it couldn’t get any more ‘Mad Men’, there she was- Ms. Peggy Olson herself!

Anything with a dash of mid-century modern has my vote, and these numbers by Alice and Olivia (also the name’s of ym girls!) totally brightened up my day, lucky you for being there!!

Ah! Peggy! Her hair looks amazing. It really suits her. I love the mid-century vibe of the show, they really did it right and it played so well with the fashion. That cocktail with the orchid in it is DIVINE.

Well hello spring 2013! I love the colorful striped skirt as well as the green upholstered couch the model is sitting on.

Sounds like fun! I’m not that into clothes, but look at all those furniture and decor!

Oh how divine! The photos I’ve seen buzzing around the internet from NY Fashion week have been drop dead gorgeous, and not just the models, people on the street too. x

Oh yes, the people watching at this event definitely made the night even more entertaining.

That looks like a lot of fun! I have decided that A+O is one of the designers I will actually purchase clothing from so it’s interesting to see what’s coming.
The mural was painted on the side of a building as you suspected. I’m not sure what happens inside the building, it’s huge and brick and I think holds things for the city. Size-wise, they say it’s 70’x70′.

The mural is gorgeous! I love the green couch the model is sitting it, it totally belongs on Madmen

Santa, if you could see me now, I have turned green with envy! I have always wanted to go to one of these (if only just to people watch)! I have decided that I need that striped outfit in my life!
