Ok, so, first things first. As of last night, the power is back on! And not a moment too soon: the temperatures have dropped to the low 30’s F / 1 C and there is now also talk of a Nor’easter storm for tomorrow (if you are not familiar, it involves high winds and snow).
I hope to sit and write a proper post about the hurricane, but today I wanted thank you all for being so kind over the last week. Your words of support really brightened up my days.
And now, Agustav Furniture and the Agustav Book Rack…
Agustav Furniture out of Denmark have come up with a unique way to display all of those literary gems in your collections. Their book rack uses a wall mounted system with detachable pins. Attached to each pin is a waxed string with a sort of peg that holds the book.
You can choose between two finishes (wenge and oak) and the strings come in three colours (dark brown, beige or red).

Hurray for getting the power back!
That’s a neat way to display your books. Love the first photo were one wenge hook snuck onto a board made of oak.

YAAAAY for the power going back on!! That’s such amazing news. I can uncross my fingers and toes now, yes? Whew, so happy for you guys. I can imagine that got old really quick. I have to say, I admire your devotion to blogging! I can’t say I’d be as interested in posting if I was without electricity. You’re a rockstar! I love that book system. I’d have a problem choosing which books to display though, but that could be half the fun.

Phew, perfect timing w/these chilly days among us. We have electricity and no radiator heat (my portable heater is now my puppy following me around to each room). Thank goodness for my thermies (pants + top). Wishing you continued warmth!!

I love that little book display rack. Hopefully it is so exciting it makes kids clean up after themselves.
Hooray for power! Hopefully the Nor’easter will be nothing, my fingers are crossed for you. I’m also thinking that all the rotten trees toppled in the hurricane and at least things will stand in this storm.

What a great idea, I especially love the kids books displayed this way. I’m so stoked for you! You have done such an amazing job going that long without power, while staying so positive – I would’ve been going crazy! x
homestilo says
Oh trust me I was going crazy. But, since homestilo is my happy place…I just wanted to keep all of my readers posted on what was going on.

Glad that everything is good now 🙂
And what a lovely piece of design! And from Denmark, hehe.

I’m glad your power is back too! I know what you mean that things still don’t quite feel normal. We had to get a space heater today to fend off the cold temps from the storm as we wait for heat. Hope it won’t be too bad. Good luck cleaning out your fridge 🙂

Such great news to read, Santa! I also heard that a Nor’easter is headed your way. Well, at the time of writing this comment, it may have already descended. Please stay safe and warm.
With snow and heavy winds headed your way, it seems appropriate to talk about books. I haven’t seen this book display system before; It’s very clever and cool looking.
