New York City homes are notorious for being tiny. This studio apartment in Greenich Village does not disappoint in that aspect. It is a whopping 520 sq ft (48 sq m) big. But what it lacks in space, it more than makes up for in functionality.
Owner and architectural designer Greg Dufner, says the apartment was at first in “vintage condition”. However, this did not deter him from converting it into his very own dashing downtown digs.
Throughout the four month renovation, he focused on the flow and function of the dwelling. This included using built-ins to help make the most out of the space, and area rugs to define zones.
So, what do you think? Could YOU downsize to 520 square feet?

This apartment is really stylish and they’ve definitely made the most of the space. And here I thought my 800 sq ft place was small.

800 sq ft seems almost palatial- especially for NYC!

Eep – I don’t know if I could downsize to 520 st ft, I love having my own little office at home! However, this is a super smart use of space! Some apartments just feel tiny, but this one really makes it feel open.

The designer was definitely clever in his design.

I could totally downsize – especially with that bookshelf. I think that’d be pretty much all I would need. Plus with the dressing room and closet, I’m sure there’s enough storage space

Well Rooth I commend you! I don’t know that I could even fit The Tot’s toys in 520 sq ft at this point…
