So we did try the heat over the long weekend and doing something on each day. On Sunday, for instance, we paid a visit to the Bartow-Pell Mansion Museum in the Bronx (yes, that Bronx!)
This Greek Revival style home, was built in the 1840’s and the family who built it, the Bartow-Pell family, proceeded to live in it for over four decades.
The home is currently furnished with period replicas, personal donations and items on loan from institutions like the American Wing at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
