Food colors are said to be those in the red family. Hues such as oranges are appetite stimulants.
While blues are associated with less appetizing matters (think rotted or moldy foods in the back of your fridge). Yet, blue kitchens are everywhere.
So, do you believe in color psychology theories that state that blue is an appetite killer? Or do the blue belles pictured above win you over?

I have sky blue kitchen cabinet doors and they certainly don’t curb my appetite any so I totally don’t believe in the color psychology theories on this one and judging by these great blue kitchens, others would agree 🙂

i like all these blue kitchens. when i painted my cabinets i went for blue, but then it did feel odd, so i immediately changed. so i don’t know. i think the blue just didn’t go with my house and it wasn’t anymore than that. i love blue in the kitchen and if it doesn’t make me hungry all the better! though i am sure the psychological needs of my snacking would give the smack down to the psychology of blue not making me hungry.

I’m a big fan of blue, so I love these kitchens, particularly the top pic. It’s nice to see some colour, so many kitchens are just white. I also love the fresh combo of green & white in kitchens. x
I like blue in the kitchen, and I love the color in the second photo. For my master’s thesis I worked with color theory but used blue in the common kitchens. 🙂
Although the blue kitchens you featured are beautiful, they don’t so much inspire hunger or the urge to cook something. Maybe that’s what I need instead of a diet, a redesigned kitchen!
Oh pshh, in other contexts blue means tranquility and peacefulness and red means anger and heat! Considering I get flummoxed upon entering a kitchen, I’ll take all the tranquility I can get. So yes, I love these blue kitchens.
I think it’s a load of baloney! Blue is one of my favourite colours – it makes me happy and if I am happy, I am generally hungry! Bring forth the blue kitchens I say!
