I am all for a good ol’ carved jack-o-lantern. But now a days, there seem to be a few alternatives to carving (ie the painted pumpkin). If you don’t like carving because of the mess or maybe because you find it too time consuming or maybe you just want to try out something new, this might be another way to go…
Grab the chalk paint, a stencil …and oh yeah, chalk! Then get to work on your own version of these graphic treats.
Using tattoo/stencil transfer paper and your favorite colors (or leftover paints from another project!), you can achieve these ever-so-pretty and down right hilarious pumpkins. Alternatively, you could hand write your messages with a sharpie.
For those who would rather have pumpkins that match a more specific color palette. Once again, chalk paint, this time with a traditional twist.
No need for brushes or stencils here. just grab some paint pens and go to town. The result is a cheerful and trendy pumpkin (pssst, they actually used fake pumpkins for these which means, no work for next year!)
How about it? Ready to give the pumpkin a makeover of a different sort? Or sticking with the knife and scooper?

I attended a pumpkin painting party at Womans’ Day magazine last year and that convinced me that it’s a really viable alternative to traditional carving and it’s way less messy too. They can look so elegant when painted white and shade of metallic.

Agreed- white, black and gold are great options if elegance is the end goal
