Hello and Happy Friday!
Thank you for sticking around this week- even while I had a technical glitch (and thank you Erin and Nina for pointing it out!)
Truth time. Lately, I haven’t quite been on my A game in terms of blogging.ย The glitch this week was a very big wake up call as I don’t think in the past, that would’ve gotten past me so easily. It has also been a struggle to find the time to pull posts together and even keep up with fellow bloggers lately.
For quite sometime, I was able to focus solely on the blog but that is no longer the case (and I will be filling you in on that in the coming weeks…) I would rather cut back than have sporadic posts.ย For this reason, I have decided to take a page out of my girl Christine’s book and change homestilo’s schedule to Monday, Wednesday, Friday – at least for a while.
I hope that you’ll understand and that you’ll continue to stop by on a regular!

Life happens. I definitely found it easier to manage a blog/life balance after I cut back my blogging schedule. Hope it works out for you as well Santa.

I’m having the same issue Santa… I think 3 x’s a week is enough (or will have to be) and I plan on doing the same.. Have a good weekend:)
homestilo says
Well Luci, I’ve only just made the decision, but I feel like I am catching up already- so I would recommend it ๐

i really love blogging and i knew if i tried to keep 5 days a week up when i get too busy for that i wouldn’t love it so much. so it’s about keeping that love alive and i check in with your blog everyday anyway, so i will certainly be sticking around ๐
homestilo says
Thanks Christine. I feel the same way too!

Well, you know I completely understand where you’re coming from as someone who had to take a step back. Life beckons and living it helps keep the creative juices flowing. So, you’re making a wise decision to take of yourself. I hope reaching this decision brought you some peace. Happy weekend, Santa! xo

I understand! I’ve cut back to 2x a week and am enjoying it more. I have more time to think about what I want to write. happy weekend!

I totally understand – 5 days a week is tough work! I too have to stick to MWF, and even revert to T/Th sometimes when a week is super crazy. It’s all about balance and a MWF posting schedule is just perfect I find ๐

Thank you all for your supportive comments. I really am feeling better already about the decision.

I too at the beginning of my blogging journey desided to blog 3x a week instead of the 5x and it was a good choice. Now I sometimes even skip a post or two. It’s been working great. I’m sure you will find it more pleasing to blog only when you are happy doing so, not because it’s “mandatory”.
I hope everything is Ok, I mean that nothing bad has happened?
homestilo says
Thank you Leena- nothing bad has happened…but life is happening and at a quicker pace than usual ๐

I know the feeling, I have had no time for my blog as taxes were looming and lots of other things on my mind. Driving me a little crazy but I have future plans I can’t share yet, and this is taking a lot of my brain power (if you will). Don’t worry about it, we are all still here and will continue to check in with you!! Its a lot of work to come up with posts day in and day out and I find I just don’t have it in me right now. Have a great Sunday! ๐

I’ve cut back to two days as well, there just isn’t enough time these days unless I want to spend my life blogging and working so I totally get it. Plus I get stressed out by bloggers who post daily or multiple times a day because it’s too much. ๐
I hope you are a good kind of busy!

Hi Santa: I’m in total agreement with the ladies above. I think it’s much better to put energy into quality posts that you really love than to put out posts that don’t really reflect you. You have a lot to offer and I don’t think going to a MWF schedule is necessarily a bad thing. (I have been toying with a similar schedule as well) Life happens! We are a community and will still be here. Take care. Have a good week.

Blogging is a massive commitment, I totally know where you’re coming from. I look forward to hearing what’s happening in your life, and I’ll definitely come and visit Monday, Wednesday & Friday ๐ x

I am struggling with exactly the same issue at the moment and am rushing through blog posts instead of taking the time to put something fantastic together – so I can totally relate to your need to cut back. I am considering the same thing so I will definitely be popping in Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Hope you are finally catching up with stuff!
Erin says
I totally hear you (and even though I’m reading this post AFTER your Monday post, haha, it still makes sense!). I’ve been thinking about only posting when I feel like it and letting go of the weird sense of obligation I have to post everyday. I’m sure the world won’t end if I do, but I’m having trouble getting there, you know? Whatever works for you works for us! I’m thrilled you’ll still be posting and won’t abandon us totally ๐ xoxo
homestilo says
I suppose it is that same ‘sense of obligation’ that had me go to M, W, F. Missing days here and there had me feeling horrible about the whole thing.
Nina says
It’s all about what makes you happy! If three posts a week are what makes you keep enjoying writing your blog than go for it.
