Every once in a while, my girlfriend Karin and I get together and have a “Craft Night”. We are combining our DIY and project lists and trying to make a fun night of tackling it.
Sometimes it goes well…
But then sometimes…
This was supposed to be an easy project: take pretty fabric, measure and cut, press out the creases, frame it , hang it.
Everything was going smoothly until we got to the part with the large Ikea Ribba frame. Then the project turned into some sort of comedy of errors. The creases which we had steamed returned. The frame fell apart at a corner. We decided to nail it (at this point we just wanted this thing done) which in turn, cracked the paper-like wood of the frame.
But we’ll be back. Plan B involves wrapping the fabric around a large canvas…

That sounds like so much fun. At least the paper flowers turned out well!

Oh dear, that sounds like one of my craft attempts! I did come across a cute little DIY pom pom garland this morning, that I thought looked easy enough for me to attempt – will see. xxx

..actually..now that I think about it, I think our pom pom project was originally meant to be a garland as well…

Oh good luck, sounds like more of a D-I-whY {which is what a lot of my brilliant ideas turn into}. I hope you have better luck with plan B!

HA!-D-I- Why. I will have to remember that one for the future.

That sort of craft night sounds lovely. I would like to have similar with my friends. Crafting can be quite lonely at times.

Your craft nights sound like fun! Too bad this project didn’t work out because besides the creases the fabric looks great in the frame, as far as I can tell.
