Now that Halloween is done, up next is good ‘ol Thanksgiving. And, as much as I love to eat, the tablescape is always what interests me the most. After all, if you are hosting, it is a way to show off your creative skills. (you know, in ways other than turning a turnip into the spitting image of your favorite family member, or something of the sort).
Enter, craft paper. It may not be the most conventional or traditional. After all, it is quite utilitarian in appearance. But, with the help of a Sharpie and some greenery, it can actually be made to look warm and elegant.
as a tablecloth
As a complete tablecloth, it may be a little stiff. But a way around this would be to cut it to size around the table top. That way your table is covered, but there is no overhang.
as a table runner
Alternatively, you could cut the paper even more on the sides, and use it as a runner.
to label food
If you are using a buffet table, this would be a fun and functional way to label your dishes.
as placemats
Finally, if you want to use craft paper but still want to feature your original tablecloth, you could always use the paper as a placemat.

Love the placemat idea!
