Starting off the week with a look at an entryway chock full of eclectic character. From top to bottom, it is all there. Painted wood slats on the ceiling. Awning windows that may or may not be letting in the climbing ivy from outside. A wall with exposed brick and a traditional radiator. And for the final touch, industrial pendant lamps.
For a moment, when I saw this image, I thought I was looking at an entryway with a full length mirror. It would make complete sense. After all, it is a fairly narrow space and a mirror would give that larger than it really is feeling not to mention amplify the natural light.
But upon closer inspection…surprise! It is actually an arched entryway into the living area. The fascinating detail that fooled me was the use of the same industrial pendant light carried into the next room. A brilliant way (pun intended) to tie in the spaces.
This, by the way, is the home of artist Saskia Folks and you can see a lot more of it at insideout magazine.
