Dark Green Interiors

Oh, I know. This is not the green of the moment.  That would certainly be Pantone’s “Greenery”.   And if that is absolutely the only green you will have anything to do with, tune in next week for a post on how to bring Greenery into your spaces.

Otherwise, I feel like I have been seeing a lot of Greenery’s darker cousins,  quite often lately. Greens with names like Ocean, Forest and  even Avocado.They pair beautifully with other colors such as pale pink and grey. They are also a great choice with brass fixtures/hardware.

A statement piece like this deep green velvet sofa, draws the eye right into the room. Additional deep greens are added with throw pillows.

A dark hue on the wall doesn’t automatically equal a dark room. This focal wall does its duties in the wow factor department but the room is kept fresh with plenty of natural light, neighboring white walls and ceilings and a light colored floor.

For the more bold. Rather than a single focal wall, this kitchen packs a punch with dark green walls and matching cabinets. The artwork adds traditional feel while marble counters and brass fixtures add modernity.

Just as with the previous image (but perhaps in smaller scale). Here an IKEA cabinet is painted to match the bold hue of the wall and pocket door.
