We just got hit with another heat wave over the weekend. Between the high temperatures and the humidity, it was kind of brutal.
The kind of heat that would make you want to put on a swimsuit, crank up the air conditioning and lay on the floor (in option 2 you can also run through a sprinkler). But surely there are much more elegant ways of dealing with the heat? I think a sprawling front porch might do the trick.
A ceiling fan, curtains and rocking chairs = porch perfection in my book.

My porch would definitely include large wicker chairs and sofa, lots of cushions, something cool to drink, and a spectacular view! x
Yes to the fan to blow the bugs away and yes to something swinging or rocking. I think the sprinkler idea is the best though. I have considered lying on the ground under one at times. I hope this week is cooler for you!
Oh, I love front porches. We had one in our first apartment and another one in the back. So great! Even when it was raining but still warm we could hang out there. If I ever get to live in another place with a porch a bench swing would be a must…

Ooh beautiful shots. My perfect porch would be a screened-in veranda complete with the comfiest of padded loungers, lots of blankets and pillows thrown about, candles, breezy drapes and my dearest friends and family. Whew, totally dreaming about this now. Cheers!

Hmm a dream porch? Since I am not ready to move to a single family home yet how about a dream veranda? It’s have columns, over looking the ocean or city view!

I looove hanging chairs! And FINALLY just grabbed one for my bedroom – in tangerine/orange. Pics to come when I finalize my bedrm design .. like probably a year from now haha!
