First off, thanks for all your kind words on Monday. It made me realize that I am not the only one taking my time in putting things up on the walls, and that’s ok. But, I’m not kidding about getting some art up there. So, this time, a look at the gallery wall. There are many ways to determine how to arrange a gallery wall. Today we are looking at these five:
- by frame shape
- by colour (of frame or subject matter)
- by symmetry
- by theme
- wall to wall
The black and oblong frames on this wall make for a sleek look. And the asymmetrical placement of the frames finishes off this unconventional version of the gallery wall.
This wall completes the nautical motif of this room. The frames include many different sizes. But what really ties them all in, is the theme of natural elements as well as the colour blue.
In addition to the black and white pattern of this gallery wall, it also encompasses the entire wall, giving it a definite wow factor.
A very organized and symmetrical gallery wall caps off this formal space.

Love gallery walls! We want to turn the wall next to our stairs into one but I am not sure how to start. Maybe I have to lay it out on the floor first. Also we need a big ass ladder to reach the wall…

The wall-to-wall option strikes me the most, I think it’s the most visually appealing and overwhelming in a good way! I do love gallery walls, my brother has a huge one at this house and I just envy it. It’s not something that can be rushed, though, it has to be built up over time.

The ‘wall to wall’ option is very cool, but I also like the ‘theme and colour’ collection, and how the console table with it’s beautiful vignette all work together with the frames. x

Loving these gallery walls. The one I’m most drawn to is the one in the bedroom with all the black frames. It’s so graphic and striking. We used to have a gallery wall in our previous home, but I haven’t recreated in our new one. Might need to start working on that project.
