I am very excited to be going to a special (70th) anniversary screening of Casablanca this evening.
Besides being one of the most quoted movies ever, I think Casablanca has everything anyone could ask for in a film: war torn lovers, international intrigue and all of the iconic acting and swagger that only a 1940’s movie could bring. Not to mention the set design with it’s exotic lighting fixtures and its beautiful (ever full) champagne glasses!
PS- the screening is running in theaters throughout the country. So, if you interested, check and see if your local theater is playing it.

So jealous! Can you believe that I have never seen this movie from start to finish (I always just seem to catch glimpses of it). Hope you have a wonderful time – oh yes, and I love everything in your moodboard, especially the fez and the beautiful champagne glasses!

I just love the interiors in old movies. I’ve never seen Casablanca (crazy, I know!), but now I’m sort of intrigued. xo

This sounds bad but I’ve never seen this movie in its entirety! Only snippets and I know I should find the time to watch it!

@Meghan & Bessie- put it on your list. It is, after all, a classic 🙂
@Amy I know exactly what you mean. Sometimes I think I spend more time analyzing the sets, costumes and mannerisms of the time than I do following the stories.

Ok, so here’s a confession: I’ve never seen Casa Blanca. I really, truly want to but I might wait to watch it with my mom in July. I’ll bet we’ll love it. This post just made me dream a little 🙂 Thank You!

You know, I’ve never seen Casablanca! Isn’t it one of the top films on the AFI list or something? I’ll have to look for it in theaters.

I saw that movie a while ago, it might be time for a refresher since I don’t remember too many details. I hope you have a great time!
