@ Home in Lake Geneva

 

This modern waterfront structure serves as home base and office space to its owner and his family. To design it, the owner commissioned the  South African firm of Stefan Antoni Olmesdahl Truen Architects (SAOTA), who had already designed three other homes for the family (in Paris, Senegal and Cape Town).

 

The triangular structure of the house is divided into 2 sections. One of which, features a double story living area with a glass wall on the lake facing side.

 

To warm the space up, rounded and organic shapes were used in furnishings and accessories. The designers tried to bring in the owner’s native West Africa via materials, colors and textures, all the while keeping with the minimalistic style often found in Europe.
