Since we are gearing up for Memorial Day weekend, I thought it appropriate to share this bit of an Americana gem I came across via House Beautiful.
This is a home where the designers/homeowners were afraid of pattern. My favorite has got to be the toile on toile in the last image.
And the fact that all the rooms look so cozy, almost make you want to overlook that this vacation home has no heating, air conditioning or a dishwasher.
Enjoy!

Ha! It does look like walnuts. 🙂

That would have been my guess as well. But apparently it is made of coconut shells!

Oh, I have such a crush on the whole state of Maine. I love anything from there. Those homes are not my style at all, and I’m still in love with them. 🙂

Esa casa podría parecer sobrecargada , pero me encanta ya que a pesar de tener tanto color ,,,combina perfecto

Now there is a dining table that begs for a grand dinner party (and maybe even one of those murder mystery dinner games!).

Oh yes, and with copious amounts of wine.
