Architect Sabrina Bignami, of b-arch studio, says that the biggest challenge for this project was adapting the space to modern living conveniences without losing the essence and history of the existing structure. The attic space was once, after all, the kitchen of a 19th century palace in the center of Prato, a city in Tuscany.
But between the architect’s work and the homeowner’s personal touches, like French market finds, I dare say they’ve done a great job at retaining the charm. Would you agree?

Smeg fridge, get into my life. I’ve been in love with those fridges for ever but cannot justify the price tag for the small space inside. One day! I love all the rustic touches of the house, including that giant wall map above the bed!

Stunning home! I’m after that Smeg fridge, always wanted one (and secretly hoping our fridge might breakdown to give me the excuse I need!).

VERY charming indeed! I love the letters throughout the designs – in the Ristorante art, then single letters = makes it feel more lived in = beautifully alive.
