Bright, modern and, at 4630 sq ft/430m², spacious. It’s all here in this home. With the help of designer Francisco Càlio, homeowner Flor Lima has managed to convert this into a contemporary haven in the north of São Paulo.
When coming up with a design for her family’s new home, it was important for Lima to keep furniture pieces that had been in the family for some time. Furnishings include an old wardrobe handed down to her from her mother, which Càlio repurposed into a fairly modern open storage unit in the living room.

4360 sq ft?? That’s a mansion! I’d easily get lost in there. My house is “only” 1600 by comparison and that feels way too big most of the time! Though I do love how the space is used vertically and not just horizontally. Those concrete stairs are fab.

The yellow wardrobe is fantastic. I cannot see the space, I mean it does not look huge at all, which is only good, this looks cozy.

I really like how preserving furniture for sentimental value can be made into a repurposing exercise. It supports the argument for buying high quality furnishings that will last

Hmmmm that’s approximately 8 times larger than my largest apartment. I’m sure I could move in and they wouldn’t even notice. I really love the throw in the bedroom and the rug in the living room {with the one bug bright and the rest faded}.
I hope everything is okay with you!
