Happy Friday everyone. I spotted this home in the latest issue of Rue magazine.
There are two things that I like about this place. First, it really shows how great rooms can look with just a few very special pieces. Second, it is a rental. That means that items such as wall color, lighting and (shag!) carpeting, were already in place. However, designer Serena Armstrong was up to the challenge.
“The goal is to create spaces that draw people in rather than scream ‘Here I am!'”, says Armstrong. Using a white Eames recliner as a main inspiration, the rooms just flow with ease in deep caramel tones, neutrals and subtle pops of color.

I love that stated goal. I never thought of rooms in that way, but thinking back it’s true that the spaces I remember the most are those that are most inviting and comfortable.

I absolutely love the fresh and clean look of this home – can’t believe it’s a rental!

Hmm, that’s really interesting. I’m actually trying to consider white furniture as something to throw into the mix and this is making me lean toward it

I am loving the orange and cream pattern on those dinette chairs! You and my mom would get along great! You are both into interior design, and she loves decorating 🙂

Wow! I’ve been online trying to find a nice rental on the beach in California for the last two hours, and would love to find one that looks like this! 🙂

I remember your NYC rental from last year. Looking forward to the Cali edition (and I hope it’s as fab as this too).

i love how they added an area rug on top of the carpet to define the space further = perfect! Carpets are visually similar to wood floors that they have a flat look that get’s division with rugs.
