What can I say? I spoke too soon, Mother Nature came in and retracted any intentions of warm weather she had presented early last week. Still, that was some view I left you with for the long weekend was it not?
It is actually a Summer home located in the archipelago off the coast of Stockholm in Sweden. The architects, Tham & Videgård Hansson, included a wooden deck to surround the entire building which faces the sun (south) on one side, and the water on the western side.
A little sparse perhaps. But, there there are always ways to warm things up. For example, by adding texture with textiles while still keeping it neutral.
pillows: oversized fuzzy pillow, pier one $50 | rizzy home pillow, all modern $84 | mongolian lamb pillow cover, west elm $54 throws: pale pink waffle knit throw, bhs, 25£ | sofia cashmere cream new york 12ply cable twist throw, amara $1,510 flooring: rope rug, alaska rug company $99 | rens, ikea $30 | sophie aschauer large sail rope mat, aha life $1500

Sparse, sure, but that’s the mark of a true Scandinavian house after all, right? Haha. I say add some flowers and some bold artwork, along with those pillows and throws you rounded up, and it would be perfect. Not that you can get any better than those water views!

Ah, how beautiful! I love the deck and the slats on top of the deck. It is a little sparse but my soul would certainly rest there (until I’d got bored and then spread all my crafting supplies all over)

I’m learning to love the sparse, but those accessories you rounded up would be perfect for that beautiful space.

What a cool home, it looks really relaxing. I hope you get your warm weather back. We are well and truly settling in for winter here in New Zealand. It’s ugg boots and hot chocolate weather! x

I definitely thinking throwing in some textured throws and pillows would make this place that much better! It’s already breathtaking with all of it’s windows!

A bit sparse but a total stunner of a home. Well it’s 90 degrees today 🙂

I just knew the rest of the house would be equally gorgeous! I still can’t get over the light in this place. London is experiencing grey skies and torrential rain so I am just going to daydream over the house a little more!

that bedroom is stunning and is that a suspended fireplace, wow. it is sparse but with all that beauty outside it probably doesn’t feel that way inside.
