This week on homestilo, I find myself pulling a Monday, Wednesday, Friday post schedule. I hope you’ll bear with me…
I came across this cozy cottage on the House Beautiful website and thought it so appropriate for a Winter’s day. The original building dates back to the early 1800’s and designer Charles O Schwarz (III) says that “the intent was to make it cozy and barn-like.”
Besides all of the country charm, I just loved how light floods every room, even those with darker wall colors.

The color in that dining room is great, you wouldn’t think a darker blue would go with this house but it makes everything look more elegant and Victorian. It’s my dream to one day have a bench in the front hall and a stand alone tub in the bathroom. Love love love.

Those wing chairs are great – comfy seat while the wings envelop you! I could wile away many a day in front of a fire reading in those chairs.

I really like the chairs as well. I could picture many a hot chocolates being sipped in one of them – preferably with a warm throw and an ottoman to stretch my legs on 🙂

I was at the bookstore today and took a pic of that very first image of the gray and coral room! Great minds…:) It’s so lovely, as is the rest of the house. I’m this close to getting a subscription to House Beautiful.
