Hello- Happy Friday AND Happy Second Day of Spring (or so I’m told).
I am leaving you for the weekend with a question: if you had to, could you pare down your belongings to fit into a small studio? A studio, say, 16sq m/170 sq f? Well, that is what you would have to do to take up residence in this small Parisian studio.
The studio is actually part of a larger apartment. The homeowners had the idea of converting the once master bedroom, into a small studio that they could rent out to students. With quite a bit of ingenuity, the space is filled with form and function to boot.
above: The space is split into two levels. On the lower, the coffee table slides below some low cabinets, the sofa becomes the bed and the same lower hung cabinets act as a headboard. There is also a desk/work space in this section.
below: On the raised platform, there is a kitchenette with a breakfast bar. Behind an opaque glass wall, the bath.
I am currently on a mission to declutter and purge (more on that in later posts). This space completely adds to the motivation.

i’m so with you – i’ve been on a purging spree with donating things i have doubles of/don’t need any more and it slowly is getting better! i remember when i first moved into my apartment how bare my 900 sq feet looked. now, i’m using every inch of closet space! downsizing is good, i’d rather have my money in travels and experiences and not in “things”!

You know you don’t even need to ask twice, right? In a HEARTBEAT I’d be in there. I have the essentials mentally prepared and can pare down to as small a space as necessary, so long as it’s in Paris 🙂 Have a good weekend, Santa! xo

Of course, the question was completely rhetorical in your case Erin!

It’s really cool how they incorporated all that storage in there. In a battle of location vs. space I would probably pick location and I already have since I live in a 1br apt. in downtown Manhattan. I’m constantly on a purging kick as well. Purging is good 🙂
To answer your question, that drama isn’t being broadcasted in our area at the moment but you might be able to find online at Dramafever or Hulu. It’s like over 50 eps. though O_o

I am continually fascinated by people who can consolidate everything in their lives to fit into such a small space and make it look beautiful as well

Sheesh. I’ll never complain about my small living room again! I know I purged everything when I moved over to Aus but errrm, well, I seem to have collected even more crap than before. Oh well.

I’d love to only have enough stuff to fit in there!
I heard an interview with a minimalist a year ago last week, and I came home and filled a bunch of garbage bags of junk. We’ve been tossing, on average, 10 items a day since then.

i could not. maybe i could someday down the road, but for now. i couldn’t imagine my life in a space that small. well, i could imagine a long vacation there. that i could easily do – a few changes of clothes and i am there.
