Hello & Happy Friday!
I am now on a mission to get *curtain panels up in the master bedroom and guest room/home office. I know this will be crucial to getting a good night’s sleep (black out shades a must) and keeping drafts out for the coming Winter season (as well as providing insulation from the heat during warmer months).
Now, I am a grommet panel kind of girl. Always have been. I like that they give the finishing touch to a room that drapes are known to provide, without being too formal or traditional. I’ve already got the home office/guest room panels – my standard grommet. But I haven’t decided on which route to take for the master bedroom just yet. There are a plethora of choices out there. Here is a look at a five of those.
*I know you are an easy going bunch, but I feel compelled to mention: panels that are more casual and/or unlined are usually referred to as ‘curtains’. More formal panels that are tailored and lined are usually referred to as ‘drapes’. And, I am sure if you do further research you can find even more differences between the two. For our purposes, I’ll be referring to them all as “panels”.
DIY: Two of the panels featured above are actually DIY projects
1. pinch pleat how- to via kirtsy 2. (hidden tab) table cloth curtains via just a girl

It’s strange I know, but many Swedish homes in my neaighbourhood at least don’t have curtains, so it’s quite a feast for my eyes to see all of these designs. I particularly like the inverted pleat design – very pretty. Have a lovely weekend!

Love those grommet panels with the rope…what a clever idea! I would never have thought to use rope like that for curtains.

I really love the rope-tied grommets at the top of those panels. Such a smart idea! I’d never have thought of that. I have a bunch of fabric that I’ve been meaning to make curtain panels out of but I haven’t gotten around to it yet. Maybe next year, haha.

I am with Niki and love peeping in other peoples places from the street when they don’t have curtains…Love the idea with the rope, makes the otherwise simple curtain stand out.

We have a rather dark, small house here in London so we don’t have curtains on some of our windows (that aren’t overlooked) but I have been debating whether to add some for the onset of winter. I adore the rope-tied grommets might just use this idea)!!

I haven’t been much of a window treatment person but the inverted pleats are my favorite!

This is such a timely post for me Santa, as I’m just in the process of getting curtains for our bedroom. Who knew there were so many choices! We’ve gone without curtains for six years as we love the view over the botanical gardens, and we’re quite private. But since we added a big wrap around deck, you can now walk right up to our bedroom window. Some of those early morning couriers get to see me still in bed – eek! 😉 x

I learn so much on your blog! I’m with you on the grommet panels. Those are definitely my speed

The inverted pleat panels are totally my favourite! I don’t think I’ve seen those ever before. Or if I refrase, I’ve never paid so much attention that I would have noticed such.
The panels are so sleak and modern without being cold.
I like the grommets too, but maybe not the rope, but what I first noticed on the room was the motor(?) part on the foot of the bed, so cool.
