You know how a couple of weeks back I had to fight the urge to have a week of all Halloween posts? Well, this week I have fought hard not to have a week of James Bond related posts. Truth time: I am a huge fan of Bond movies. It’s one of those guilty pleasures I have had for a looong time and I am quite shameless about admitting it. I don’t have a shrine or anything…But I do have a favorite Bond…and a favorite movie…and even a favorite quote. Ok- so maybe I am just a step away from having a shrine.
The fact that The Mr upped and left on a business trip on the night of the premier of the latest Bond movie, Skyfall, is not sitting well with me. I am seriously considering going to the theater by myself to see it. But, in the meantime, Bond post time!
Part of the fun of watching the movies, of course, are the sets. This especially applies with the older movies. You can always count on 007 to be surrounded by modern accessories. Even in the most traditional of rooms.

Oh my gosh, what a fun post! I am ashamed to admit I haven’t seen enough of the old Bond movies, but I am a humongous fan of the Daniel Craig incarnation. And I do love Timothy Dalton, though I heard he gets a bad rap amongst Bond die-hards. Who is your favorite??
homestilo says
Roger Moore is my favorite. Another sign that I am “die hard”: I never liked that Timothy Dalton chap as Bond.

Fun! Don’t hold back on these posts – I love this one!! My son went through a mega james bond phase when he was about 7, so I have seen every single movie. Connery is my favorite, with Brosnan as a close second. I just couldn’t handle Rodger Moore for some reason. I think he seemed too American for me (though I know he’s not) – my son the real Bond lover does love him though so I think I must just be crazy 🙂

I just styled a bar/restaurant for their Martini night, and used James Bond as my inspiration. My fav is definitely Sean Connery. Enjoy the movie when you get to it. x

Es que queda fuera de mi control: si de interiores se trata, siempre llega un determinado momento en donde me quedo distraída y solo me fijo en el “set / When it comes to interiors, there is always a moment in a film where I get distracted and focus only on the set.

The surroundings in which Mr. Bond stayed were as stylish as 007 himself. I’m totally coveting one of those Tivoli radios. Roger Moore was my favorite Bond as well. I liked how he was abit on the cheekier side 🙂

I’ve never met anyone who favored Roger Moore over Sean Connery- I can tell that we are going to be friends!

What a great post! Not a big fan of 007 myself but my MR. dragged me to cinema to see the new one. Have I mentioned this is a great post? 🙂 And do you take requests? How about one for Mad Men or Downton Abbey.
homestilo says
ooh, challange err..request accepted!

I’ve never been too interested in the 007, the Daniel Greg ones I am able to watch without total boredom since they seem to have at least some sort of plot.
But I love the sets you’ve chosen. I think all of them could be used this day too. Very timeless.

What a fun post, Santa! Great job on the roundups. I’m dying to see the new Bond movie, Skyfall. I heard that it doesn’t disappoint. Plus, ever since I saw The Girl with a Dragon Tatoo, I’ve been intrigued by Daniel Craig. I say go see it by yourself, if you want. Nothing wrong with that at all. 🙂

I haven’t seen too many of the new Bond movies but I have seen a few of the old ones. I am completely in love with the chandelier in the Diamonds Are Forever image. It kind of makes me want to watch them over again for the interiors.
