Hello & Happy Friday!
In it’s attempt for a total revamp, the JC Penney department store has not left the home department stone unturned. They have enlisted the help of some heavy hitters to create affordable lines for shoppers. I was in there recently and I have to say I was impressed enough to want to share with you.
And with the heat (at last!) that is predicted for the weekend, there may be some shopping from the comfort of my air conditioned living room going on. What do you have planned?
I’m really in love with the rebranding efforts JCP is going through. I want them to do really well because they’ve been around forever, and I’m still mourning the loss of Strawbridge & Clothier (were they a regional thing?). I love department stores. And to see them collaborate with Pantone and Conran?! Amazing! I’ll be checking that out asap. This weekend we’re going to play softball with a group of J’s buddies, and then his parents are coming down to finish building his desk! How are you feeling besides pregnant? 😉 xo
Hmm, not familiar with Strawbridge & Clothier- so yes, may be a regional thing…Will have to look into this! Well, in the past few months I’ve come to the realization that being preggo kinda means feeling every feeling under the sun. 🙂 Hope you have a great time (and great weather) at the soft ball game and with the Jamal’s parents!
In the wake of discount stores – Target, one of my favorite haunts, comes to mind – JCP often gets overlooked. I too am loving their rebranding. They are one of the only department stores left in our mall so I should shop there more frequently – but I don’t. Thanks for the reminder – I think I’ll check them out. Have a great & cool weekend!
I am having the same feeling: Loving the rebranding, but hardly make it there because it means a trip to the mall. But, with internet shopping, I may start shopping there more often now.
I love the new JCP! Especially now since they’ve acquired Joe Fresh.
Yes, loving Joe Fresh and we don’t otherwise have it in NJ…at least I don’t think we do…

I had heard they were going to have store-in-store setups but I had no idea they would have interesting things. I have no AC so this weekend/last week hasn’t been so fun. 🙂
