If you’re like me, you do not want to let that bouquet go. Not even when it starts showing some signs of wilting and aging. Here are a few of the things that I like to do with those remaining flowers…
1. Make a new bouquet
Take the few flowers that are still in good shape. Cut stem down and place in a smaller container. In my case, I use a glass that I keep solely for this purpose. It is pretty simple, but you could go as ornate as you want to.
2. Use fillers, which usually require less water, in other spots
3.Don’t forget those petals
Those petals that fell of their stems while I was putting together the smaller bouquet, were still quite pretty. These went in a small decorative dish and into the guest bath…at least for a few days.

Thanks Emily! The dish is actually from Ikea. It’s sold in the bath department, I have found many uses for it though.

Great tips! Especially for someone like me who never wants to throw out pretty flowers (not matter how wilted!). The petals in a bowl are particularly pretty.

Great tips! I often do use the fillers (which tend to last longe) in other vases as well. I hardley even keep 1 bouquet all together. I love separating them in little bunches and in different heights (depending on the vases I use which usually are … empty/cleaned jars like mayo, jelly, tall olive jar … yep, I collect tooooons of them (can’t seem to let them gooooo :))

You know, thanks for this tip. I always wonder if they really work and end up not using them (I have a collection of them by now) Will start using them.
