Lately it’s hard to pick up a fashion magazine without seeing a spread on bohemian inspired styles. No doubt inspired by the music festival resurgence of late. As with most fashion trends, you can always bring in touches into your interiors without having to do a complete overhaul of your existing style . Here is a look at how some otherwise, not-so-bohemian spaces can be easily transformed with some easy additions.
pattern and plants + industrial
The painted brick walls, steel ladder and simple black and white palette, all indicate that this is an industrial styled interior. But when you add a duvet and pillows with an ethnic pattern along with some hanging plants, the vibe easily turns hippie chic instead.
tie-dye + mid century mod
Mid century modern is known for it’s clean lines. In this seating area, mod pieces are relaxed with the additions of an over head tie dye canopy, plants on the wall and comfy poufs.
patterned texture + glam
Black and white along with touches brass, make this quite the luxe interior. Adding textured patterns like the flower pouf and the zig zag rug seen here will do the trick for changing up the look.
texture + contemporary
Bohemian doesn’t necessarily have to mean an explosion of color and pattern. This room is neutral and contemporary. However, the furniture sits low which is reminiscent of the throw pillows found in bohemian settings. A textured pillow and a Moroccan rug hanging on the wall, soften the look.
Hanging something up isn’t the only way to achieve the modern bohemian feel in your home. But it is a great way to incorporate the trend withing taking up any valuable real estate on your floor plan.

I really like the boho trend and how easy it is to capture the feeling without overhauling your entire space! I wish we had the space for a hammock 😉

I really love all of these! I surprisingly like how the tie dye looks with mid century modern. But I think my favorite has to be black and white paired with brass. I’m all about neutrals, even metallic ones!

Brass – the new neutral. I like how you think Yelle!
