Hope you all had a marvelous weekend. Around these parts, the weather wasn’t great but we still managed to have a decent two days (well, three days if you consider the fact the my weekends begins on Fridays!)
This week, I am trying to stay motivated with some existing projects at home. For one thing, I am finally starting to put up some art work around the place. What?- it’s only taken me 4 years. And I am now making my way into the guest room / home office.
I am starting with a medium sized frame (about 15 ½” x 19″) my father had given me a while ago. I had no idea what I would do with it, but I hoarded held on to it nonetheless. I am now using it as a floating frame.
I used 3M picture hanging velcro strips because 1) it was an easy way to make sure there was no visible hardware and 2. The Mr is very anti holes in the wall, so those 3M solutions are my best friends.
Three Easy Steps
- cut the strips to fit the frame (which in this case meant cutting them in half)
- place strips according to instructions
- place art work within frame with decorative tape
I am happy with the result and even happier with how simple it all was.

Washi tape makes everything amazing. That DIY was so simple and yet packed such a punch visually. It looks great! That’s a really great print, too. Sorry the weather wasn’t so great!

That looks great! Love the print.

Love the idea of Velcro! We already have many holes in the walls, but Velcro will be great for future project – never thought of it.

Yelle just note that these strips are plastic and not cloth velcro. I think this has an effect on the weight they can withstand.

Totally jealous that your weekend begins on Friday. 🙂
I love this! I have always liked washi tape but had no idea what to do with it. This is a great way to use it though and something to do with those amazing frames I have passed up because they have no back and I know I’ll do nothing to fix it. I should hang my art at some point as well. One time a friend of mine told me that my apartment was cute but I had no art {pronounced aht} up. Still haven’t really fixed that.

That looks fantastic, and really easy to changes pictures if you ever feel like it. x

Heh, I’ve been removing the artwork from our walls lately. We had too much and too bland things on the walls.
But I love this frame of yours and it’s so easy to change the picture according to the season or mood.

I love projects like this, simple yet effective. Those Velcro strips are a GODSEND! I have about £50 worth of that stuff on my walls lol.

How clever! I can also appreciate the ease of this diy.
Well, don’t feel too bad, I haven’t properly hung any art in our home either. Everything is just leaning against walls. 😉
