I am 100% behind changing things up at home from season to season. As long, of course, as the changes are quick and easy. For me this usually involves switching out accessories. And more often than not, it is the textile accessories that are the easiest to change over. A pillow here, a small area rug there… These are some simple ways to freshen up a space without having to do a furniture overhaul.
in the living room, cushions change in colour and shape
the runner on the dining table changes to a stripe in the season’s hues
in the bath, towels go from a light botanical motif to a dark monogrammed look
Other hassle-free changes:
- area rugs in the kitchen
- duvet in the bedroom
- hand towel in the guest bath and kitchen
What are some of the changes you take on from season to season, room to room?

I have to admit I only change around the duvet in the bedroom when the seasons change, I am a lazy decorator 😉 Love the round pillow, the colors really say fall to me…

I also find it easier to change the textiles, like the blankets for my bed. But I also change the flowers I have at home, since I can’t make them survive for long anyway, it’s easier to just get new ones for a new season 🙂

I love the round pillow and your couch! I usually only have one or two sets of things, so I don’t change things out. In fact, my fall-looking fake flower/branch thing on the dining room table ended up staying there all year, so I guess it is back in season now!

I absolutely love that pillow! It’s perfect for fall, and even the previous pillow was perfect for summer!

Such an easy and effective switch-up. I do kitchen towels with snowmen on them and a pillow case or two for the sofa. I’m neutral all year round though, haha, so it’s simple.

I agree. I have a few different pillow covers that I switch on and off the inserts when I feel like having a change. I have also been considering new draperies since thicker ones in winter can keep some more heat in and every little bit helps some winters.

Lots of fun, like having a whole new home in a sense. I just bring out a few extra rugs and throws in the winter. But am loving throwing open the doors, and bringing table cloths and candles out for our Spring alfresco dining. x

I’m a bit of a lazy decorator too so I tend to change vignettes only, oh yes, and I like to change our table settings!

Few years back I changed the curtains and pillow covers when season changed. They were dark red on winter and whiter on summer. But our livingroom in this house is very dark in the winter so I’ve kept the same summer curtains and pillows all year long. On Xmas I last year changed the pillow covers. But changed them back immediately after Xmas.
Only thing I do is place a lamb fur on the armchair so the leather chair wont feel so cold.
