How was your weekend? Glorious, I hope. We had beautiful weather. And although I’ve been quite under the weather (fighting a pesky cold with all of my might…lots of tea and lots of whining), I tried my best to spend sometime outside. After all, getting to experience Fall in the northeast is one of the perks of living in this area.
There is also the fact that I’ve been trying to stay in the present and not get overwhelmed with the amount of projects and things on my “Before The Year Ends To-Do List”. Things on the list range from “learn to sew, dammit” (more on that endeavor later in the week) to “change car insurance companies”. Do you have one of these lists going? How are you keeping sane with the impending doom of time flying by?
Sometimes a walk around the neighborhood (or in our case a neighboring neighborhood) does the trick for me in terms of clearing my head and getting some temporary distraction as well as motivation to face the week.
You can always find some great inspiration from architecture and architectural details.
(a million apologies to freaked out neighbors who thought I might be “casing the joint” while taking pictures of their lawns and homes)
And, of course, at this time of the year you can always count on…

Haha, that skeleton “buried” in the ground is great. It was a wonderful weekend for a nice walk! The weather was so perfectly “fall” this weekend, and you’re right, it’s one of the perks of living in the northeast. The leaves are the most magical shades of yellow and red this time of year. Glad you go to enjoy it and hope you feel better soon!

i love the skeleton, it makes me giggle – he’s just so relaxed and content half-buried in the grass.
what beautiful blue skies! i almost forgot what those looked like over the weekend as it’s been dark and rainy here. hope you win the battle of the cold quick! xo

The weather was gorgeous this weekend! Hope it will stay this way for a couple of more weeks…Love the colors of the leaves this time of year. I have not seen much Halloween decorations in my area, that half buried skeleton is fun but still a bit creepy…

Ah yes, the year’s to do list. Freaking me out a little. Not to mention the “anti-procrastination” list of things that need to be done eventually – fix this, call so-and-so, organize photo albums, etc.
And I always feel like a stalker on my neighborhood walks with a camera!

I love this year’s fall colors and the crisper temperatures {most of the time} make it nice to go out. Sadly I just had a little tick jump off my head from this evening’s walk. It was still nice though. 🙂

Oh, those tree-lined streets are gorgeous. As much as I’m excited it’s Spring here in NZ, which means Summer is just around the corner, I really love Autumn (Fall) weather. Not too hot, not crazy windy, like we’re experiencing at the moment! Hope you’re feeling better soon. x

I thought I commented already but I guess I forgot to hit Post.
The half buried skeleton is hilarious! Also the small pink maple(?) tree is really pretty.

Weekend? There was a weekend? Def flew by! I sure hope that u r feeling better (connecting w/nature is always an energy boost). Gorg pics! Funny that I also started taking pics of autumn leaves (they r still ON my phone …. goes back to that TO DO LIST). All in due time. What I have found is sometimes we r the toughest on ourselves. I haven’t published a M/Make-it column in a bit and started feeling OK with it (ok meaning NOT stressed!), when I can I can; or else OVER THE EDGE PANIC STRESS which simply sucks my energy and is simply not healthy. So no M/Make-it column once in a while means that I actually started cooking breakfast more (non cereal b/fast) and don’t look like I haven’t slept for days when hubby gets home, haha. U know those disheveled days!
