I am almost certain that when marketing and ad agencies meet, they meet about me. How can they make packaging shinier and brighter to lure me in? Whatever they do will almost certainly work on me.
I saw this McCann’s Irish Oatmeal can, and just had to have it. Not because I was running low on oats, but because the look of it drew me right in.
The contents will no doubt end up as cookies. I may even try the “Irish Porridge” recipe on the side of the can. As for the can itself, I think it may end up as a pencil holder in the new guest room/office.
Are you ever drawn in simply by packaging?

Packaging is a huge factor in my spending…unless I’m already a big fan of the brand.

In a sea of colorful packaging these days a package that speaks of the past really catches your eye, doesn’t it? Perhaps to a more simple time (we need that I think).

Great find! Love the retro look and also that it reusable for other things. Beautiful packaging definitely plays a roll in my buying behavior. It’s like the icing on the cake…

Oh, I totally agree with using them for cookies and I know a lot of people who make cereal out of this and swear by it {I’m not a cereal or porridge person myself so I can’t say}. I’m a sucker for good packaging so I totally agree with your purchase.
I guess your -40 is my +82! 🙂

I don’t decorate with cans but packaging definitely catches my eye. This is def an upgrade from the red, white, and blue quaker oats…DEFINITE upgrade…

I love the typography and colours! I am a sucker for vintage chocolate boxes which I use for hairbands, clips etc (Charbonnel Walker do beautiful boxes) and tea tins which have endless uses in our house!

Oh yes, I am such a good consumer, always drawn in by packaging and lovely displays. I’ve spent a fair bit of time designing packaging in my job as a graphic designer, so I probably take extra notice of good ones. x
