It has been incredibly cold around here the past couple of days. So, I thought we could start the week off with warm thoughts and a look at some splendid fireplaces along with a few tips on how to make the most of these focal points.

Oh, I wish I had a (working) fireplace too where I could warm up in this cold weather. Especially love the one with the chunky black mantle.

That’s one thing I miss due to apartment living – a fireplace. Cozy cozy

I luv contemporary looking fireplaces, ours is a bit traditional and hubby hides the sledgehammer so traditional it stays; actually either way I do love my fireplace …. I agree it was soooo cold yesterday that throwing a few logs to the fire made a perfect weekend 🙂

As I sit waiting for today’s snow to fall, these all look so lovely. Our fireplace is broken (#gasfireplacefail) so it’s nice to daydream about a roaring fire. Ah, warmer already.

I absolutely LOVE fireplaces…that’s going to be a big deciding factor when I’m purchasing a house. These all look so warm and inviting.

Ooooh to have a fireplace. I dream of having one in my home everyday during this cold winter! These pics make me think I might have to invest for next winter! Cool homes too, thanks for sharing!

These are all lovely fireplaces. The last one is my favorite! Love the red artwork, too!

Yes, those of you with fireplaces (even those not working properly at the moment), are Big Luckies.

I wanted a fireplace in my condo but that certainly wasn’t happening! And what exactly is cold in your CA standards? We have a nice chilly mid 20s this week….

Oh how I wish I was snuggled in front of the fire right now! Especially if it was the fireplace with the intricate mosaic tiles – I don’t think I have ever seen that idea before, it’s gone straight into the inspiration folder!
