In the beginning (late 17th – early 18th century), there was the Windsor chair. Simple in construction, it consisted of doweled backs and legs. The solid wood seat was usually shaped into a saddle shape for comfort.
The design concept has remained the same. But, some designers are updating this classic with their own touches.
