One day (after they have been replaced), I will post pictures of our current floor lamps. And you will laugh and laugh. You’ll make jokes about how “..1996 called, they want their lamps back…”, and then you will laugh some more.
In my defense, they came from The Mr’s bachelor days. Since they work perfectly fine, I just grin and bear it..I also hide them. The one in the bedroom, for example, sits happily behind the floor mirror.
But, given the chance and the real estate on the floor , I would entertain the idea of a tripod lamp…

Really love the pharmarcy style tripod lamps, they’d look great next to a home office space. Very cool.

I love the black ones at the top. I just bought a pharmacy style lamp but it had a regular base not a tripod base. I really like the searchlight one, too. Very Pottery Barn/Old Hollywood glamour, if that makes any sense! I want to see your bad lamps, I bet I had the same one at one point. Black? Metal bands around it? Dish at the top that the bulbs sit in?

Ha! I knew it! And yeah, don’t feel bad, everyone has them at some point!!

Ooh, I hope we do get to see your lamps, I’m intrigued now 🙂 Love the tripod lamps too. I’m currently keeping my eye out for a vintage tall lamp stand that I can paint some gorgeous bright colour, and add the perfect shade too. x

I’ve got one tripod lamp and I want a TALL one – you and I are on the same page

I love the tripod lamps, they do take up quite a lot of floor space but that really makes those stand out more and pretty lamp can take it’s space.
I have been longing for the search light version for quite some time. But I’m not willing to pay that much from it.

I think we all have those things that we don’t really want to keep but it seems silly to replace when they still work. I won’t judge. 🙂
I think I like 5 & 6 best but your comment about having floor real estate is right on. They take up a lot of room and sometimes it’s nice to not have to vacuum around a lot of “floor things”.

I think I know exactly what kind of floor lamp you are talking about. We had one too, in black…Love the black lamps and the search light, I would probably play lighthouse or something with it 😉

I have a tripod lamp just like the n.1 in your post. It’s great but I thought the black shade was too “sad” for my living room so I also bought a white “cover” (there were other colours available) made specifically to cover it 🙂
I would love to have one of the pharmacy lights though, they look so beautiful and cozy.
