I don’t post to Instagram nearly as much as I Pin to Pinterest. But Instagram is starting to rival Pinterest for me in terms finding inspiration and creativity.
This weekend, for example, while in the middle of clicking on several hashtags and accounts, I somehow ended up finding Sarah K Benning, a contemporary embroidery artist. Her embroidery hoops are full of beautiful saturated hues an often feature lush green house plants and Midcentury Modern furnishings.
Her process involves drawing the scenes directly on the fabric and then stitching out the details. And if you are feeling creative, Sarah also sells embroidery kits so that you can try your own hand at embroidery.
