Going into the India trip I really wasn’t keen on visiting the Taj Mahal. Not because I wouldn’t have loved to see it at some point. I just figured the trip was so short to begin with and I wasn’t sure I’d be up for the trek to the city of Agra to see it this time around (you see, in my mind, this was just one of many trips to India…although it took me over three decades to make it there for the first visit).
But, The Mr insisted and I have to say, I’m really glad he did. Seeing this architectural masterpiece with my own two eyes, feeling the marble beneath my fingers as I walked in, it took my breath away. Truly a piece of Muslim art worthy of all the accolades.
So, I am leaving you for the weekend with a visit to the Taj Mahal.

It’s amazing how beautiful and textured can such a monochromatic colour be. It looks so simple and versatile at the same time. Truly beautiful.

WOW! It’s stunning up close. So incredible that you visited it, I’m happy your husband insisted! After all, who goes to India and passes up that experience (ahem, boyfriend! :). All the scroll work on the marble is so beautiful, it really makes you understand how intricate the whole project must have been. Thank you for sharing! Will we see more India pics??
