Yesterday we spent the day in the old small village of Villavieja de Yeltes. It’s the village that my in-laws hail from and when I say small, I mean small. Population is officially under 1,000 and I think most of that is during the Summer months because it is quite quiet in the Winter.
The Mr’s father keeps a house here with a small “huerta” in the back. It’s a plot of land where he grows it all: from potatoes to tomatoes from apples to melons. Talk about organic goodness.
So, have a great first weekend of the year and I will see you back here on Monday!

What a quaint little village! I love that your father in law grows his own veggies. I bet with knowing that you brought the veggies directly from the earth to the table they taste even better. Have a great weekend!

Oh my god. I am in love! I love small towns like that, and the fact that they have all that land to grow all that delicious food…when can I visit? I’d have a hard time leaving if I were you. xo

Spain is so pretty, I was lucky enough to fly into Seville years ago and then we had to get a cab to go up into the hills – Algamitas, a tiny whitewashed village near Ronda. What a beautiful part of the earth, you are so lucky to be able to visit! Happy New Year! xo

Oh that garden is the stuff of dreams! How very beautiful! And I am so jealous of the endless blue skies, although I wouldn’t expect anything less from Spain. Hope you are having a wonderful time Santa!

After NJ and NY this town must feel really really tiny. But it looks like a very beautiful rural town.
Hope your return flight goes ok.
