The Roost Recycled Glass Bubble Terrarium
I am SO over this cold weather and have Spring on the brain big time.
Recently, I got to sit in on an event at West Elm where stylist/designer Shane Powers talked about some indoor botanical projects. Particularly perfect for those of us who love to garden but are doing that good old apartment living thing. Over the course of this three part series, I’ll share some of these with you.
Bonus: some don’t even involve soil!
The Classic: Terrariums
Update the traditional terrarium by using open containers rather than a domed cover.
Components:
- river rock at the base- pretty to look at and provides drainage
- a layer of charcoal chips- helps keep mold from growing
- your plant (with loosened root ball)
- add soil and voila!

Glad you enjoyed it- be sure to send me some pics if you end up creating your own terrarium!

Very cool and a nice way to warm up a modern space.

And the great thing is you can make these work in all kinds of sizes (for those of us short on surface space!)
