If you can completely picture yourself living in this home, then designer/staging professional Kelly Proxmire of Kelly Interior Design has done her job.
She staged this late 19th century home for sale with a look she refers to as “tailored traditional” using a neutral color palette of tan, black and white. “Color schemes of neutral or blue and white work best to appeal to the market and make the ideal palette”, says Proxmire.
Georgetown has no shortage of charm and ambiance and this interior fits right in.Ā Crisp window treatments, period antiques and furnishings, tailored bed skirts. It’s all here, from top to bottom.

I love homes like this with their original features intact. And nothing beats a simple vase of white roses, so pretty! – Love your ‘get the look’ tips!

It’s a little TOO traditional and tailored for my taste, but it totally works in the house and the neighborhood. I got to walk around Georgetown last summer on a trip down to DC and the houses there are just amazing. I love slip-covered dining chairs, for some reason.

What a beautiful house, like Nikki I love the original details. I could see myself hanging out in the bay window all day…

It’s a really pretty house but what really gets me excited about it is the moldings. For me, nothing changes a house faster than some nice trim.

Gorgeous! I love black and white and the neutral tones really are very appealing and make the home so livable and comfortable looking – š
