The Angel Street Thrift Shop lies in the neighborhood of Chelsea, NY. Proceeds from sales go to support several causes, including those affected by mental illness and substance abuse. You get to do good and you get some pretty great finds on designer duds and furniture pieces.
Things go quickly though, so no time to “sleep on it” . I saw some beautiful floral silk Gucci scarves on the window display with a sign saying that they were going on sale a few days later. By the time I made it back to the store, they were long gone (along with my dreams of framing them for my dining area).
My friend K found this gorgeous set of cups (or, so we thought) at a great price and in mint condition. She later did some research and discovered that they are actually soup vessels. Not only that, but they were produced in the Czech Republic by the largest manufacturer of porcelain and ceramic sometime in the early to mid 1900s!
They are great finds, if I ever go to NY I will be sure to visit this store! I love the green of that seat I can definitely imagine it in my home!
