We already know that fashion trends often walk right in to our homes. The runway’s orange trend does just that.
We saw in yesterday’s post how it can tone down modernity, but orange can also be used as that missing bold accent in a space.
Somewhere between red and yellow, orange hues can work well with other colurs such as blues and greens. When used in a neutral backdrop, it takes center stage. You can also pair it up with other current trends (like leopard prints!)

It’s funny, I’ve been meaning to do a blog post on orange myself. It’s never been my favourite colour, but just recently I’m really falling in love with that deep tangerine orange that you’ve shown in the first photo. Mmmm, must get something that shade. xxx

I love the use of the color orange as an accent in homes and fashion…and your post has definitely confirmed that 🙂
I also have to say that I’ve fallen in love with that vintage orange LOT C sign…bordering on obsession! But that’s partly because I have become a huge fan of the TV show American Pickers and they are forever discovering vintage enamel and metal signs just like this…which I want bad 🙂
I really need to start searching for my own…though I definitely do not have enough wall space left for something of this size, but I love the idea of using a giant sign as a focal piece on a wall.
Someday it’ll happen…I can almost see it in my future dream home 🙂
