Happy Valentine’s Day Darlings.
What better day than today to take a look at the colour red and some of its many roles in interiors?
Everyone will agree, red and all of its hues, add life and energy wherever it is found. In Feng Shui, it is believed to carry fire energy and, when used properly, it can bring luck, happiness and of course, passion.
a food colour
Red is right at home in a kitchen and/or dining setting as it stimulates the appetite.
plays well with others
Black and white are not the only ones who play well with red. As you can see here, so long as the hues of the other colours are similar, red can ‘play’ along with others…and while we are on the subject…
can take the lead in nautical decor
Blue and yellow are not the only go to colors for a seaside themed room. When paired with neutrals and the proper accessories, red can do the trick.
stimulating accents
In a nursery, bright and contrasting tones are stimulating to little ones.

Happy V-Day Santa!!! Love the red chairs and white walls of the dining room shown above. What a great way to use red – a favourite for eating areas – without going to the extent of painting your walls the vibrant hue. Beautiful!

Happy Valentines Day Santa! I love red as an accent and never let me paint my kitchen red…I’ll eat more than anyone can believe…as if I don’t already. I had NO idea you lived in NJ, I am not sure why I assumed LA!
Love the red couch! It looks amazing. And you’re right a splash of red is always great for a space. It doen’t to very much, just a little bit.
