Hi all, today I have the pleasure of having Amy of aDESIGNdock as a guest blogger. In addition to having her own blog, Amy is also a contributor on the Style At Home Blog, works with a design firm and most recently joined the Kate & Birdie Paper Company. Where does a girl find the time??
Hello homestilo readers! It’s Amy here from the aDESIGNdock blog. I was delighted by Santa’s invitation to guest post on her blog; and, even more delighted when I learned that my official assignment was to chat about my favourite trend in interior design!
As a lover of all things interior design and decor, I’m unapologetically eclectic in my approach to style. I’ve come to adore everything from vintage to modern, glam to graphic and rustic to refined.
I’m currently gushing over a million things, but I’m particularly fond of the trend towards using pale, greyed wood tones around the house. Suited to urban and country dwellings, alike, grey wood tones adapt to almost any environment. Whether you’re looking to compliment an all-white interior or contrast colourful home accents, like upholstery and bedding, the wood’s soft and silvery finish creates a neutral backdrop on which to experiment with personalized vignettes – perfect for all the eclectic enthusiasts (like myself) out there!
A big thank you to Santa for this wonderful opportunity. It’s such an honour. xo

I am always impressed when I see eclectic inspiration! Who would have thought a yellow rocking chair and a cactus tree would look amazing together!

I love grey and weathered wood. Wish my floors looked like either the first or third photo!

If the plan view of my bedroom looked like this third image, I’d be a happy camper- the gray tones are wonderful. Thanks agai, Amy for your “trendy” post!
