Is there an app or add-on of some sort that tells you what your most Pinned items are? (If so, do share!) Based on the notes from Pinterest, the above image of a wall of floating bookshelves, has got to be one of my most rePinned Pins. It has been rePinned a total of 343 times to date.
I can see why it is popular. A clever and entertaining way to store books while, at the same time, adding color to a wall. It is a definite commitment and not for the faint at heart. But, if you are interested, you can purchase these ‘concealed shelves’, inexpensively, here. You can also find a diy approach here.

Ahem…an update for those of you wondering how it really works (Erin ;-). On the left, is the ready-made shelf. You can see it has small hooks on either side of the bottom to hold the back cover in place. On the right is the diy idea. Unfortunately, this involves sacrificing a book to be used as a base to the shelf.

I do love the effect these shelves create but you’re right that it’s not for the faint of heart which would be me this case 🙂

Bookshelves of any kind grab my attention but these are so funky. I would, unfortunately or fortunately, need like a bajillion of these for all my books
Erin says
I’ve always been so curious: how does the back cover of the bottom book stay up?? If the hardware of the hook is inserted inside the bottom book, wouldn’t the back cover just flop open? And I have waaay too many books for this kind of project, but I do love the effect (I just don’t understand it!) xo

these are so cool. i have a business account so i can see what my most popular pins are. i think you can get one if you have a blog. it’s a fun little thing to obsess over late on a saturday night (haha). my most popular pin is so random – a front door that has been pinned like 2000 times, the funny thing is i don’t even like the pin that much 😉

Like Christine, my most popular pin is so random and has nothing to do with me. I only know this because it’s the one I get emails about most often. DIY Upholstered Headboards. WHT? 😉 I’m a huge Pinterest fail. These bookshelves are not a fail. They’re fun! Have a great weekend, dear!

Oh one day I’ll have to show you my second most popular- an image of David Bowie during his Stardust days…

It was so nice when Pinterest had analytics built in. There are some 3rd party services that will track your stats, but unfortunately, you have to pay (a lot–like $30 a month) for them.
I LOVE the floating bookshelves. I have two of them in my office, but filling the wall with them is such a neat idea.

I love these floating bookshelf walls! They make for such an interesting look, and a great way to store all those books.
