In line with last week’s tribal pattern post and the turn for the exotic West Elm took not too long ago, they are continuing their journey. This time, with South Africa.
Now, if you know me, you may know how much I love South Africa: best-holiday-ever! (sorry Turkey). So I was thrilled to find the new WE catalog.
Working with local designers like Cape Town’s Gemma Orkin and John Vogel, they have developed Discovered South Africa. A line that incorporates traditional techniques and materials.

I went into West Elm this weekend – they do such a great job with their different pieces. I wish they would make their furniture BIGGER

I really like those little pendant spool {lights?}, they are such great shapes. And the patterns on the dinnerware is nice as well.
I came across some really great African fabric a few weeks ago that was almost a hard silk and it had bright colors and metallics in it and all the patterns had a crown. I wish I could remember what it was called. It probably wasn’t even South African so I guess I’ve gone off on a tangent but I loved it {except for those random crowns}.

Well I don’t think it’s a surprise that I love this! I think my favourite is the dinnerware!

I love all these photos – gorgeous colors and designs. My fav is the red bench and cushions in the 2nd pic, and the cool lights. x

I love the painting in this post! I have a west elm in Lincoln Park and every time I go there I plan to stop by the store but without fail….I always end up going to Z. Gallerie.
