My trip to Zara Home didn’t yield anything (cue violins) and I will probably have to wait until next year for another chance to hit the store. But today I am writing about one of the Zara clothing stores found in the ‘down town’ area of the city of Salamanca.
Zara is to Spain what Starbucks is to NYC. In the medium sized city of Salamanca alone, there are three -two of them are just about a block away from one another. Add to this the Zara Home and the higher end Massimo Dutti stores, and it is safe to say, the Zara empire has Spain covered.
What is extra special about this particular store, is that it is located in what was once the San Antonio el Real convent built in the 18th century. They have managed to keep some of the architectural elements in tact and added some modernity with their own fixtures. Talk about a heavenly shopping experience!
And apparently Zara makes seeks out special locations for their stores worldwide. I came across this site where shoppers post pictures of some other cool locations.

Thank you for the lovely comments to my blog yesterday! I wouldn’t have thought to visit Zara for the architecture but wow! The light is really quite amazing in that store

How’s it possible you didn’t get anything from Zara home? Ahhhh! They do have a unique business model and I had no idea they’ve got so many stores throughout Spain!

@B, I know, I was heartbroken at not getting anything at the home store too.
